Competition Rules
All formal competitions run by the club are governed by the World Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Federation Rules.
Whilst the majority of club events involve both Heavy Rimfire Varmint and Light Air Rifle matches, Major events such as the Queensland State Titles and the National Titles offer competition in all 5 rifle classes.
Air Rifle Classes include Light and Heavy Class and are determined by the rifle’s power and shot over 25 metres in 20 minutes
Rimfire Classes include International Sporter, Light Varmint and Heavy Varmint and shot over 50 metres in 20 minutes.
All classes are shot on a target face containing 25 scoring rondels where the competitor must place one shot on each for a maximum score of 250 points. Each rondel contains a dot in the centre of the 10 ring which is used to separate scores if the point totals are equal. The targets contains a number of sighter rondels where the competitor can choose to place as many shots as they wish, in order to test the effects of wind.
The onus is always on the competitor to understand the Rules for the match in which they participate. A copy of the current Rules can be downloaded by clicking on the link on the right.
